While my books look incredibly festive, I’m not sure how bookish my Christmas is looking. I’ve got tinsel all around my bookshelf (yes, sadly, bookshelf singular), but who knows how many new additions are waiting under the tree? I really love this prompt, so I’m using it as a way to narrow down my most anticipated reads and decide what I should get to first in 2019.
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
1. Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

I would kill for an ARC (or magical final edition) of this. I’ve been waiting for it since I finished Obsidio in April. I need another epic sci-fi adventure from this author duo.
2. Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller

Fun, easy read about pirates? Count me in. I feel like this book would be a good one to help me through my reading slump.
3. The Wicker King by K. Ancrum

I’m looking forward to buddy reading this as part of Melanie and Amy’s new Goodreads group Dragons & Tea Book Club. I’ll be buying it anyway for that, but it would be nice to receive it as a gift before then!
4. Rebel of the Sands by Alywn Hamilton

I read a sample of this months ago and was instantly sucked in, but I never got around to actually reading it. Maybe getting given a copy would be the push I need!
5. Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia

Mental illness and art? As a fan of webcomics I’m hugely excited by the prospect of reading a story about the creator of one.
6. Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

Despite not having read Fangirl or Harry Potter I’m keen to read Carry On. Especially with how much Brianna @ Brianna the Bookworm raves about it!
7. The Anatomical Shape of a Heart by Jenn Bennett

I’m down for any book about an artist, and it seems like contemporary romance is my go-to genre lately. The premise of this one sounds quite different and had me interested immediately.
8. Teeth by Hannah Moskowitz

Mermaids and romance and a gritty story? This book sounds so unique and I’m dying to get my teeth into it. (I hate this pun but it had to be made.)
9. The Thief Who Pulled on Trouble’s Braids by Michael McClung

This was a chance discovery on the Kindle store but I’ve been thinking about it ever since. The sample just sucked me in and the writing style really appealed to me.
10. The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers

When I read the words “motley crew on an exciting journey through space”, I’m sold. Say no more. Simply hand me this book and leave me in a corner to my space adventures.
BONUS! 11. Grow: The Art of Koyamori

This is the only book I actually asked for this Christmas, so I thought it should be included on this list!
Awhhhh! This made me so damn happy! I hope you find The Wicker King under your tree too, love! Because I am so honored and so blessed to call you my friend! 💖xx

Thank you so much! I didn’t find it under my tree but I did order it with a voucher, so that’s kind of the same thing! Can’t wait for the buddy read 💕
