It’s my one-year blogiversary! π
I can’t quite believe I’m saying those words. It’s been a year since I wrote the post that started it all. While I’ve strayed somewhat from my vision back then, I’ve learned a lot of valuable things and made some wonderful friends along the way.
To celebrate the website that has been my home for a year, I decided it was time to do some redecorating!
That’s right – I’ve given my blog a makeover! Everything has been hand-drawn by moi, which was no mean feat. It might not have been easy, but it was worth it; I’ve always meant for my art to be a bigger part of this blog, and I think I’m finally ready to make that happen.

My design theme is… lemons?
Yep! π It might seem a weird choice for a book blog (it definitely is a weird choice for a book blog) but it’s not a weird choice for me. I want my little corner of the internet to be a fun place that shows off my personality. I thought about drawing flowers, or tiny books, but these sour yellow fruits are just a soft spot of mine. I love buying clothes with a lemon pattern on, and I’m growing a lemon tree in my garden. I was definitely inspired to take the plunge by the lovely Kat @ Novels and Waffles, with her wonderfully different design.
Now my website is a little more me, I’m hoping to spend more time on it.
I’ve got a lot of projects planned, like opening my own bookish Etsy store, but I’ve also got plenty of blogging plans.
- Get back to basics. π I started this blog with the intention of having fun, posting reviews and tags, and I’d really like to do more of that!
- Involve more art. π¨ I’ve always wanted to make drawing and design a part of my online presence, and I’m planning to bring some of that in the form of bookish fanart and doodles! I do these regularly in my sketchbook but I never really share them.
- Create new, unique content. β¨ As well as getting back to basics, I also want to branch out! I’m planning some fun things that I hope you’ll enjoy, like me recreating book characters in The Sims!
- Blog through Inktober. π This was something I wanted to do last year, but I kept putting it off until it was too late. I completed Inktober in 2017 and I’m determined to do it again.
Most of all, I just want to continue enjoying books and blogging. Because that’s what’s most important here! I love being part of this amazing and supportive community – I’ve met so many lovely people this year and I’m sure I’ll meet many more. And I’ve found so many amazing stories, ones I’ll be forever grateful for. Books shaped me as a person, and now blogging has given me something to be part of.
Thank you for a wonderful year, and here’s to many more!

I canβt wait for Inktober! Lemons are one of my favourite themes too. The redesign is looking good! Congratulations on one year. π
